However, if an individual has a license and decides not to renew because he/she is not currently practicing dietetics or nutrition in North Carolina, or is working in a position where he/she is exempt from North Carolina’s licensure law, this individual must notify the NCBDN of his/her status by completing the Inactive Status request form online before his/her license expires on March 31st or by completing the Relinquish request form online to relinquish his/her license.
